About us UK team Tim Pare Favourite Tea: Earl Grey After graduating with a degree in Women’s and Cultural Studies, Tim moved from Cheltenham to Sheffield to form a band and become famous. He formed a band, released an album nationally, but is still waiting for the fame! In 2007, having moved to London to get married, Tim and his wife Yasmene went on honeymoon to Sri Lanka, a trip that changed their lives. Having been affected by the lack of life chances for the young people of the tea plantations, the couple set-up Tea Leaf Trust and moved to rural Sri Lanka to establish a school. During this time he completed his Master Degree in Poverty Reduction and Development Management from the University of Birmingham. On his return to the UK, Tim took on the role of Director of the Youth and Philanthropy Initiative England and N. Ireland in 2012 overseeing the expansion of the programme to over 15,000 students. In 2014, Tim was asked to establish the First Give programme with the backing of several large grant-making trusts. The programme aims to increase the positive engagement of young people with charities in their communities and currently engages over 30,000 students at 160 secondary schools.
